This spectacular nighttime show will be visible throughout the world from November 13, 2009 to November 20, 2009. The Leonid Meteor shower occurs annually around the same time yearly.

The peak of this year’s shower will be on November 17, 2009 9:40pm GMT. During it’s peak, there will be 500 meteors per hour but this is small enough to be considered a meteor storm.

Coincidentally, it will be new moon therefore making relatively faint astronomical objects more visible. You may check out other websites for techniques on how to view the Leonid meteor shower using a telescope.
